Labeling Solutions

One of our customers needed labels for laboratory containers, but finding an adhesive strong enough proved difficult. The sample tubes had a very small diameter, which tested the label’s ability to stay attached to the curved surface. On top of that, the tubes were stored in freezing conditions. By leveraging our supplier’s deep industry knowledge, we were able to quickly test materials and arrive at an excellent solution together with the customer.

Another customer needed to collect samples in outdoor conditions and seal containers while wearing butyl protective gloves. Applying labels with bulky gloves had previously been a frustrating task. Our solution was a specially die-cut label with perforations and slits that made it easy to peel from the roll and backing—even with gloves on. The sealing label material, which adhered well even to the slightly greasy surface of the containers, was selected through joint testing with the customer.

Markings for emergency exits, as well as signs leading to fire extinguishers and alarm buttons, are a critical part of building safety. Photoluminescent signs absorb light and glow in the dark—without the need for electricity.

At Karico, we manufacture photoluminescent signs using high-quality self-adhesive film in rolls instead of sheets. This cost-effective method is especially beneficial for customers who need larger quantities of safety signage. Our photoluminescent label material meets the requirements of the DIN 67510 standard.

Traditional wrap-around labels can be tricky to apply. Aligning the ends precisely takes time and care, as exposed adhesive edges easily attract dirt. In many labeling applications, leaving behind adhesive residue on the surface is simply not an option.

Cling material offers a clever solution. Its special coating activates on contact and sticks only to itself. Our customers value how easy it is to handle and apply — no risk of it sticking to a wrong place. It’s an ideal choice for industrial labeling, such as cables, and its clean finish makes it perfect for consumer products like jewelry and eyeglasses.

Traditional embossing tools can be relatively costly — especially for smaller print runs. Yet adding dimension and texture to your labels is a great way to give your product a refined, premium look.

Thanks to our digital printing technology, you can create textured finishes and raised elements with no setup costs. The method allows precise control over ink layer thickness, creating visible height variations on the label surface. This technique can be used to highlight specific design elements or simulate the look and feel of materials like wood or fabric. We’ve used printed textures to create elegant labels for, among others, premium alcoholic beverages.

With foil printing methods, you can add sophisticated details like bright gold print or holographic effects to your labels. Hot foil printing uses a heated plate that transfers the color from the foil to the label surface under heat and pressure. Cold foil, on the other hand, uses UV adhesive to transfer the color onto the surface with the help of a printing plate.

By using UV-cured digital inks on silver label stock, you can easily and affordably add metallic finishes to your labels. No printing plates are required, which means version changes can be made without additional costs. The design can be precisely adjusted to highlight specific areas with metallic shine. This solution has allowed many of our small business clients to achieve premium-looking labels at a reasonable price.

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) ensures that electrical products and components exported to the North American market meet strict fire and safety standards. Labels on these products must also undergo testing to guarantee their durability, even under demanding conditions. We serve a broad customer base in the electrical industry that requires UL-certified labels.

Karico’s UL-certified labels are designed to withstand high temperatures. Our high-adhesion labels have been tested for durability on a variety of surfaces, including both metal and plastic. The polycarbonate surface (Lexan) provides exceptional resistance to mechanical wear and a wide range of solvents. Thanks to our rotary printing methods, our UL-certified labels are highly competitive compared to sheet-fed printing.

Many tasks can be conveniently and affordably solved with labels. One of our customers needed to ensure that drilled holes for installation were in the correct positions. The drilling points were marked with printed labels, and the transparent label material made positioning easy. The adhesive kept the label securely in place, yet it could be removed cleanly without leaving any residue.

Karico’s extensive selection of label materials includes a variety of adhesive options for different applications, including extra-thick adhesives for porous surfaces, permanent adhesives for standard use, removable adhesives for short-term marking, and freezer-grade adhesives for wet surfaces and cold environments.

Not all of Karico’s products are adhesive labels or stickers. We also print and die-cut various non-adhesive plastic films and materials like cardboard. Our digitally printed cardboard hang tags are especially well-suited for cases where there are many product variations but individual volumes are not so large.

For heavier products, we recommend selecting a cardboard hang tag with a reinforced plastic coating on the back. This also allows the tag to be sealed shut with heat sealing. Depending on the customer’s packaging line, we can supply the cardboard hang tags either on rolls or individually sheeted.

Our extensive die-cutting tool collection includes existing tools for the most common shapes and sizes. This offers significant savings as customers don’t have to invest in a new die for each individual label or sticker.
